Saturday Nights And Sunday Mornings

Here's my review of SNASM, written in April of 2008. I thought it might as well be here as anywhere.

So I thought I would finally write about this record. I've had it a good number of weeks now ever since my friend Sean gave me an advance copy (I leaked it to no one and later bought it twice, such is my devotion to this band). Sean's review can be found here: http://www.thefugitivemotel.org.uk/?p=370

August & Everything After Concert DVD

Screened the August & Everything Concert Film last night at my house with a bunch of friends, including Kasey Anderson. Kinda loved it. Forgot how raw I left it all. We only played 1 show for the film so...no overdubs & no multiple takes of songs to choose from.
Just the one night exactly the way it looked and sounded.
Real but...well, very real. Like when you dreamed you went to school in your underwear.

"The Rescue Blues"

Great Kasey Anderson cover of "The Rescue Blues". Ya know, I sang the bass in The Gospel Quartet on the original track on GOLD. We were out all nite the nite before. I was drinking & smoking up a storm. The next day when we got to the studio, my voice went nowhere but low. Strangely, there was also no sign of the guy who was s'posed to sing bass so I said "Um...I will volunteer to sing bass".  2…

The sentimental geek strikes back

Be-caped and beguiling, Ryan Adams stages a triumphant solo return at the Barbican.

Ryan Adams Being a Ryan Adams fan can be a bit of a rollercoaster.

There’s his habit of releasing everything he records, often for free, simply because he feels like it. For the record, I love it, but it drives some people nuts, and just confuses others. If mellow country classic Heartbreaker is your…

Counting Crows On Tour

The GreyBird Foundation was established because we believe America is a dream in which the thoughts and needs of each and every person matter. Unfortunately, people feel small as the world expands and they forget that they ARE America.

So we find the people down the street from you who are trying to do their part to help and we try and help THEM. Get involved with the idea of being involved people. After all, it's your town, your country, your world, and no one will ever make as much of a difference as you can just by waking up and being a part of it.
