....and then there was Dan Vickrey. Got to meet and chat with him that night in New Orleans also. My bestie, who was a Counting Crows newbie, is now a kitten who's smitten with Dan. I can totally see why. He was cool as hell. Great sense of humor, and he had us laughing A LOT. But it wasn't until Tender Mercies took the stage, that I was then convinced he's one of the greatest guitar players ever. I'll admit, before that show, I only had eyes for Adam, but now I can say that Dan is the man. And his guitar tones! Damn! I've been in bands for 15 years, and I know how hard it is for guitar players to get just the right tones for a song...let alone every song. So to sum up Dan: VERY funny, interesting, accessible, incredibly intelligent (read his article What Do We Want? Change! When Do We Want It? 10 Minutes Ago!), SEXY guitar tones, and he's the man. Dan, if you ever read this, Kara-Christina think you rock!
