I love the that you added the trumpet player. He is first rate. Your voice sounds like you are right next to me singing in my ear. It is that crisp! I am going to be honest with you and let you know that I was wondering and literally looking at all your videos to see if you have ever had a non-white in your band or playing music with you. I am not kidding, it is that serious to me. You talk about a "white bread" life and you "walk through the barrio" but you can find someone for Mr. Jones but not someone for you. I know that you grew up in a city well known for its diversity. I wondered if you had conscientously excluded all non-whites. I'm just letting you know my thoughts and I am sure that I am not the only one who has ventured into this area of thought.
Your a beautiful soul and I love your evolution.
Comment by Deborah Dufenetz on August 9, 2012 at 9:38pm Wow - you read quite a lot into that little musical break!! Maybe that guy was just the best trumpet player for the job. And not that I know much, but did you ever see the video of Adam singing with Darius Rucker, or the rapper they had on their tour in 2010? They are both very non-white.
Comment by Rhonda Weaver on August 20, 2012 at 9:01pm Hey friend! I respect your opinion. And your inquisitivieness. I really doubt that race has anything to do with this band. Afterall, they sang Colorblind, which to me, means they are saying they are veyr much in spirit a representation of all. I look at people and I do not see the color of their skin, their faith, their nationality, whatever. I look for genuine. I agree with Deborah, the guy was the best man for the job. To quote Malcolm X, "I am for truth, no matter who speaks it, I am for justice, no matter who it is for." I am for great music, no matter who plays it. Again, I respect your opinion and your strength to put it out there.Keep asking questions. It is how we connect.

The GreyBird Foundation was established because we believe America is a dream in which the thoughts and needs of each and every person matter. Unfortunately, people feel small as the world expands and they forget that they ARE America.
So we find the people down the street from you who are trying to do their part to help and we try and help THEM. Get involved with the idea of being involved people. After all, it's your town, your country, your world, and no one will ever make as much of a difference as you can just by waking up and being a part of it.
