Counting Crows,

I’m the woman who named the band.

I’ve written an ebook called Babble On.  Read it if you’re curious about what happened to me.  My brain has been riddled with memories since it was published in May.  I’ve had amnesia.  I remembered you for the first time a few weeks ago.  I’m happy for you and I’m very glad you’re doing so well.  I love your sound.

Here goes - What I remember about it is, I met with Adam Duritz at an upstairs apartment - that’s how I’m picturing it, anyway.  He wanted me to name the band.  We talked a bit about the band and the type of music he made and we both liked.  I wasn't coming up with anything, so I asked about the members.  I still didn't come up with anything, Adam got up and walked over to the window while I was thinking of other questions I could ask to have me come up with a name.  His back was to me, I asked him what he was doing and he said, "Counting crows."

I told him that was it - that was the name.  He said he wanted me to use one of my signature names with a number in it; but since I don't ever remember naming anyone I wasn't sure what he was talking about but I answered that counting crows has many numbers in it.  Then he recited a poem and said that the name reminded him of that.  I was very moved.

These memories are now like blisters.  If you can fill in any blanks for me, I’d appreciate it.

Continued good luck to you.

Outreach

The GreyBird Foundation was established because we believe America is a dream in which the thoughts and needs of each and every person matter. Unfortunately, people feel small as the world expands and they forget that they ARE America.

So we find the people down the street from you who are trying to do their part to help and we try and help THEM. Get involved with the idea of being involved people. After all, it's your town, your country, your world, and no one will ever make as much of a difference as you can just by waking up and being a part of it.
