New York, NY –[May 9, 2025] – Today, multi-platinum,Grammy-nominated rock band Counting Crows releases their long-awaited new album, Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets!, available everywhere now via BMG. Marking their first full-length studio release since 2021’s critically acclaimed ButterMiracle: Suite One, the album builds upon its predecessor’s narrative thread with nine emotionally resonant tracks that reflect frontman Adam Duritz’s deeply personal songwriting and the band’s signature blend of rock, folk, and alternative. Listen HERE.
Lead single “Spaceman in Tulsa” introduced the band’s new chapter with poetic lyricism and a fresh sonic edge. It explores finding identity in places where you feel like you don’t belong—and how music can be a transformative refuge. The track was one of several inspired by the artist’s reflections on friends, distance, identity, and reconnection, themes that flow throughout the album.
With “With Love, From A-Z,” Duritz paints what he calls “a portrait of the artist as a middle-aged man,” capturing the challenges of maintaining love and friendship amid a life spent on the road. Songs like “Boxcars” and “Angel of 14th Street” delve into the societal fractures and cruelty experienced by marginalized communities, drawing parallels between present-day injustice and historic persecution. “Virginia Through the Rain” offers a more introspective lens, focusing on the personal failures of a flawed narrator, while “Under The Aurora” zooms out to capture the collective longing for connection during the pandemic. “Elevator Boots” chronicles the experience of about being in a band – melodically illustrating the joys and difficulties of life on the road. “Bobby & TheRat-Kings” offers a love letter to the formative power of music fandom. The album closes on “Under The Aurora,” a sweeping piano-led reflection that balances the loneliness and urgency of the past few years with hope for deeper connection.
The new project arrives ahead of the band’s massive international trek, The Complete Sweets! Tour, which kicks off June 10 in Nashville, TN. The tour will bring CountingCrows’ timeless storytelling, raw emotion, rich melodies and beloved live show to audiences across North America and Europe throughout Summer and Fall2025.
